The Tri-Cities Kiwanis Salmon Tournaments combine support for pediatric care with a fun day of energetic and enjoyable fishing for young patients, sponsors and guests!
 

All net proceeds of our two annual Salmon Tournaments support pediatric care and Child Life programs at North Ottawa Community Health System (NOCHS), at children's hospitals in Michigan including DeVos Children's Hospital, and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Tournament sponsors are assigned to professional charter boats for a morning of exciting salmon fishing on Lake Michigan. Each boat holds up to six participants, and sponsors can invite anyone they wish — family, friends, employees or customers. Sponsors can also support fishing opportunities for young patients of DeVos Children's Hospital.

Angel Sponsor — $5,000

• Three boats holding up to 18 participants.
• May donate one or two boats to Patient VIPs.
• Name or logo displayed on sponsor banner.
• Opportunity to address event attendees.

Hope Sponsor — $3,500

• Two boats holding up to 12 participants.
• May donate one boat to Patient VIPs.
• Name or logo displayed on sponsor banner.

Star Sponsor — $2,000

• One boat holding up to 6 participants.
• Name or logo displayed on sponsor banner.

Silver Sponsor — $1,000

• Up to 3 fishing participants, boat assignment first come first served.
• Name(s) displayed on sponsor banner.

Patient VIP Boat Sponsor — $2,000

• Supporting one boat holding 3 patient VIPs and their adult chaperones.
• Name or logo displayed on sponsor banner.

Patient VIP Benefactor — $750

• Provides opportunity for one patient VIP to fish.

How our tournaments work...

Sponsorships must be received and all boat participants listed no later than two weeks in advance of event. Boats are arranged based on paid sponsor request whenever possible.

Boats Depart at 6:00 a.m. from Chinook Pier, Grand Haven. Coffee and donuts are available before departure. All participants must register before departing, and pick up their fish tags. Boats Return at 12:00 p.m. to Chinook Pier and tagged fish are weighed and processed. Lunch is provided, and a short program precedes the awarding of prizes. A Grand Prize is awarded for the largest fish in Sponsor and Patient VIP categories. Additional prizes are awarded by lottery using the fish tags.

Inclement weather:  Our charter captains make the call on Tournament morning if the weather is not suitable for their boat. Unless travel is unsafe, sponsors and participants should come to Chinook Pier. In the event the fishing is canceled, each set of participants may set up a separate day and time to fish with their assigned charter.
